Flowering Crabapple Tree

As you may have noticed, spring is approaching much slower this year, than last year. The plants have noticed this also and haven’t quite exited their winter sleep. We are still experiencing cold night temperatures and cool days. The Plant Health Care Department at Kramer Tree Specialists is carefully monitoring weather conditions in our area. Many of our spring applications, including the Apple Scab spray program, have not started yet, due to the cooler conditions. For optimal effectiveness, a certain amount of leaf surface on deciduous trees is required for many of the spray treatment applications. In addition, most tree pests are not yet active this year.

Rest assured, if you have a spring application scheduled with us, we will start as soon as possible. The Plant Health Care Department is keeping track of all the factors needed to start the spring treatments. If you haven’t scheduled applications yet, it’s not too late to get on the schedule. Call the PHC Department today!
