Todd Kramer, director of Field Operations and Education at Kramer Tree Specialists, wrote a fascinating article that appears in the November 2012 issue of the Tree Care Industry Association magazine. “A Tale of Cranes, Communication and Electricity” details the challenges faced when removing a tree that required the use of equipment specifically adapted for the job, exceptional communication between everyone involved and other factors not ordinarily experienced. The success of this job hinged on many aspects coming together. This included advanced planning, which can prevent on-site surprises. In addition, awareness and careful evaluation of the job site, both before and during the tree removal process, made it possible to balance all three aspects of the KTS Performance Triangle – Safety, Quality and Productivity.
