Today is the final day of 2018 and many resolutions are being made for the upcoming new year. Maintaining good health and wellness are always great, but don’t forget about the trees in your landscape and our communities as well!
Here are 5 great resolutions to make going into 2019 for the trees in your landscape and community –
- Maintain good watering practices for your trees
- Routine Maintenance Pruning
- Tree Health Monitoring
- Learn to identify at least 1 new tree this year
- Take a walk in the woods – Forest bathing!
Quick insight to the above resolutions –
- Typically, 1″ of water is what most trees desire during the growing season, taking rainfall into account. If rainfall doesn’t hit the mark, provide some supplemental watering during periods of drought. If you need help measuring rainfall, let us know and we would be happy to get you a KTS rain gauge while supplies last!
- Don’t only prune when a branch or limb becomes a problem, prune your trees regularly to avoid the problem in the first place. Have an ISA certified arborist help you determine a sufficient schedule for your trees.
- Pay attention to your trees for changes in their look or condition. Examples such as yellowing leaves, dropping of leaves during the growing season or other abnormal symptoms may be an indication of health issues. Catching problems early on is always a better chance for successful treatment.
- Your on your own on this way, but we are always happy to help out. Feel free to message us or send us pics of trees that you are trying to learn, we would be happy to help you out!
- Who doesn’t need to find more time hiking in the woods? The fast-paced world that we live in now days is a reason more than ever to schedule peaceful time enjoying the woods on the weekend or after work to reduce some stress and enjoy the beauty of nature around us.
It is up to all of us to help maintain the beauty and diversity of nature and our urban forest around us. Thanks for helping promote the practice of safe and professional arboriculture and we look forward to an excellent 2019!
